Over the years, we’ve had our fair share of travel experiences with babies and toddlers, so we wanted to share this list of tips for traveling with your kids:
- Rent certain baby items in the country that you are traveling to, such as strollers, cribs, playpens, to save you the hassle of having to lug them around. Not only does it leave your hands free, but certain airlines charge an arm and a leg to check these items in. Here in Barbados, you can find this equipment through BabyGear.
- Staying in an AirBnB or hotel room with a kitchen certainly helps when it comes to meals. You can prepare snacks and meals for baby, and save on having to bring a lot of snacks and food with you.
- Find local location based ‘Mum’ groups on Facebook, such as Island Child Barbados, to ask for tips and all baby related questions before you arrive at a destination. It certainly helps to know of the most child friendly restaurants, beaches and activities beforehand, so you can plan your trip accordingly.
- Hire local childcare, so that you can get a break and relax; after all, this is your vacation too! Here at Island Sitters, our mission is to give you one less thing to worry about, knowing that your children are safe and happy with one of our experienced and certified holiday nannies and babysitters!
